Tolman was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries she was nominated as Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her performance. In the same year it was revealed that Tolman is scheduled to make a guest role on the Mindy Project as Abby Berman who is a romantic author. In 2015, her second part was played by Michael Dougherty in the film, horror-film Krampus. Following her breakout role on Fargo, Tolman declined several supporting parts as mothers or wives as well as best friends seeking a more unusual role. Tolman was a part of ABC on Downward Dog (based on Animal Media Group's web-series). The show was canceled after just one season. In addition, she starred on the ABC drama series Emergence that premiered on September 24, 2019 but was pulled following one season on May 21 in 2020.
